I can use the free player in Reaper, works fine.

The player got a new icon, of course there must have been other changes, but it helped me remember there was an update! I've gotten a few updates, and the last one was not many months ago. There are free updates available for the free Kontakt 5 player. But what does this mean exactly? If a VST was licensed for the free player, can I access all the configuration menus that the piano VST has or not? Also, the free player doesn't have as many configuration options. All I want to know is this, can you use the Free Player as a VST in a DAW to record midis with it? I remember someone saying that the player can't record midi.
#Kontakt 5 price full version
Is there anything piano related that they could possibly put into Komplete 12 that would make it worth the wait?Īlso, I have done a bunch of searches about the difference between the Kontakt Full Version and the Free Player.
#Kontakt 5 price upgrade
This is pretty soon, and I was wondering if anyone can tell me if it's worth it to wait for version 12 if I am mostly in it for Kontakt and for the pianos.Īre updates and upgrades free for Kontakt? Or would I have to pay to upgrade to, say, a version 6.0 later? This bundle also includes a bunch of NI pianos (The Grandeur, The Giant, The Gentleman, The Maverick, and a few more I think?), so since I planned to get Grandeur and Giant anyway, this sounds like a great deal, plus I would get a ton of other samples that I might end up using later for other purposes.Īpparently, there is a new version of Komplete out every year (with a few exceptions here and there), and the pattern is that it gets released around September or October. From what I can see, Kontakt is part of Komplete 11. I wanted to buy Kontakt in order to buy some piano VSTis that require the full version of it.
